Scope Of The Work

The psychological training was carried out at two clearly distinguishable junctures before and during the competition. The first stage took place prior to the commencement of the competition and mainly consisted of regular group work as part of a daily schedule of general preparation activities. The second session of group work took place after the World Cup. had kicked off and was aimed at the various teams of referees that had been selected to officiate, who were assisted by psychologists both prior to setting off for matches and upon their return.
At the same time, a personalised assistance service was set up through individual consultations conducted either at the suggestion of the team of psychologists or at the suggestion of the
individual referees. These consultations addressed a wide range of issues.
