Oceania Football Confederation

Solomon Islands Bilikiki Boys have been crowned Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) beach soccer champions after a thrilling 5-3 victory over Vanuatu at Narrow Neck Beach in Auckland, New Zealand. Striker James Naka was the hero yet again for the Bilikiki Boys after his double strike saw his team bounce back from 2-0 down to retain the title they won at Temae Beach, Tahiti, last year. A Seule Soromon brace gave Vanuatu a two-goal lead early in the match with Jean Robert Yelou adding a third. Bilikiki Boys bounced back in style with Naka’s goals supplemented by strikes from Henry Koto, Benjamin Mela and Samson Takayama. Beach soccer debutants New Zealand clinched third place after they defeated Tahiti 5-3. Nathan Fry helped himself to two goals, with Daniel Ellensohn, Michael Gwyther and Michael Munday’s goals cancelling out strikes from Pierre Kugogne, Johan Petillon and Teva Zaveroni.
