AFC Asian Football Confederation

In Malaysia, the AFC announced the contenders for the AFC Women’s Player of the Year award and the AFC Women’s Youth Player of the Year award for the inaugural AFC women’s annual awards. The AFC will become the first football confederation anywhere in the world to launch a women’s awards ceremony (6 November 2007) to recognise and honour women football players. The AFC Women’s Player of the Year shortlist (in alphabetical order) is: Gill Kathryn (Australia), Ri Kum Suk (Korea DPR), Sawa Homare (Japan), Seesraum Junpen (Thailand), Walsh Sarah (Australia)
