A last-minute goal

A last-minute goal from Ji Ting was enough to give China a 3-2 victory over a FIFA Women’s World Stars XI on the eve of the final draw for the FIFA Women’s World Cup China 2007 in Wuhan. The Chinese national team were coached by new arrival Marika Domanski-Lyfors from Sweden, while German coaching legend Tina Theune-Meyer and current England coach Hope Powell took charge of the World Stars. A 31,000 crowd at the Wuhan Sports Center Stadium was wowed by stars including Kristine Lilly (USA) and Cynthia Uwak (Nigeria). The World Stars’ goals came from Germany’s Conny Pohlers and Australia’s Cheryl Salisbury, while Liu Sa and Han Duan joined Ji Ting on the scoresheet for China.
