El Salvador captured the 2007 UNCAF (Central American football union) Under-16 Tournament after finishing first with eight points in the overall standings following a 6-0 victory over hosts Belize in the final match at the MCC Grounds in Belize City on 23 September. El Salvador had opened the five-team tournament on 19 September with a 1-0 win over Guatemala. The cuscatlecos then recorded 1-1 draws against Panama and Costa Rica on 20 and 21 September respectively. It was the second UNCAF U-16 Tournament, with Costa Rica having won the inaugural title in 2006 in Diriamba, Nicaragua.
