UEFA Football News 2

The Latvian Football Federation has organised its first ever beach soccer national championship and its best two teams have also taken part in the Baltic Beach Soccer Cup together with the best sides from Lithuania and Estonia. As beach soccer continues to gain popularity in Europe, the big news is that the French football association has been awarded the right to host the fourth FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in July 2008. The exact location of the event will be the beaches of Marseilles, which play host to the European Beach Soccer League Superfinal every year and will be upgraded to accommodate up to 8,500 spectators per game. This will be the first time that the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup will be played outside Brazil.
