The New World National League in Fiji could soon have a new champion as Labasa and Lautoka continue to put pressure on defending champions Ba. Ba, who have lost influential pair Peni Finau and Osea Vakatalesau to New Zealand Football Championship club Youngheart Manawatu, have struggled to maintain the form that saw them win five domestic trophies last season and romp to the 2007 O-League final. Lautoka lead the table by two points from nearest rivals Labasa. Ba have lost two matches so far but remain within striking distance of the leaders.
