Auckland City have named Colin Tuaa as their new coach for the 2007-2008 season, with the former New Zealand international already making his mark on the team by signing Solomon Islands pair George Suri and Henry Fa’arodo. Joining them is former Korea Republic international Ki-Hyung Lee. Lee-capped 47 times by his country – trialled with the Wellington Phoenix and although he failed to earn a contract with the club, coach Ricki Herbert, who is also in charge of the national team, was happy to recommend the midfielder to Tuaa. Leaving Auckland City is inspirational captain Neil Sykes, 32, who will be crossing town to join Waitakere United. Sykes’ service to Auckland City was recognised during a club function in which the veteran midfielder was presented with a plaque commemorating the three NZFC titles won during his time there.
