Gerard Houllier to be apppointed manager of France
Gerard Houllier, who left the French Lyon at the end of last season, is to be appointed for technical director of France.
Houllier’s candidacy has been submitted to the sports ministry. It’s the standard procedure, a source told Reuters.
Houllier, 60, left Lyon after leading them to a record sixth consecutive French title.
He will succeed Jean-Pierre Morlans, who filled the role on a temporary basis after the departure of 1998 World Cup winning coach Aime Jacquet in January.
Houllier previously served as France’s technical director from 1989 to 1998.
