FIFA President plays on artificial turf

As part of FIFA’s Win in Africa with Africa initiative, Sudan became the latest association to receive a top quality artificial turf pitch in February, financed by world football’s governing body. FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and CAF President and FIFA Vice-President Issa Hayatou were among the invitees at the opening ceremony held as part of the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) 50th anniversary celebrations.
Blatter, once a striker in Switzerland’s top amateur division, could not resist the temptation of testing the artificial turf in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, and kicking the ball around with local youngsters.
