A high-ranking delegation from the German football association, led by its president, Theo Zwanziger, visited FIFA on 8 Mrch 2007.
FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter was delighted to welcome his DFB counterpart, who was accompanied by newly appointed UEFA vice-president Gerhard Mayer-Vorfelder and newly elected FIFA Executive Committee member Franz Beckenbauer, to the Home of FIFA where he gave them a tour of the governing body’s new headquarters. In the course of productive exchanges lasting around one hour, the leaders of FIFA and the DFB discussed various topics relating to international football.
“Following on from the success of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the DFB is already conserving new projects with which to affirm its readiness to promote the game of football around the world at all levels,” said Blatter. “It is gratifying that the German football association is such an active member of FIFA whose representatives make such a significant contribution to FIFA and UEFA bodies.”

“We hope that in 2011 we can celebrate ?Another time to make friends’ and give the game a second summer fairy tale.”
