Sir Alex Ferguson is under discussion as a potential coach for a British football team at the 2012
Olympic Games in London. According to Lord Sebastian Coe, the organising committee chairman, he has already spoken to the coach of the English champions and Champions League winners Manchester United. “I would love to have him there because he is a phenomenal coach,” explained Coe. He said that Scotsman Ferguson would be the ideal man for the job, if Britain’s separate football associations decide to enter a joint team. However, Coe stressed that the final word lay with the associations and the British Olympic Association (BOA).
