AFC – CONCACAF / PLAY-OFF DATES

The women’s national teams of Japan and Mexico, who finished third in the AFC and CONCACAF preliminary competitions respectively, will play off in March 2007, with the winner qualifying for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in China.
A draw to determinate the home and away dates took place in Tokyo on 15 December. The draw resulted in the following match schedule:
- 10 March 2007: Japan v. Mexico
- 17 March: Mexico v. Japan
The draw was attended by the chairman of the Committee for Women’s Football and the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Worawi Makudi (Thailand), the president of Japan Football Association, Saburo Kawabuchi, and the president of the Mexican football association, Justino Compean, as well as FIFA’s Director of Competitions, Jim Brown, who opened the ceremony.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup in China 2007 will take place from 10 to 30 September 2007.
